Hello, I’m Jeron, a Business and Analysis student in Utah. I am the creator of this blog, LearnBiz. I have been studying business at Utah Valley University and am really enjoying it! I’ve learned a lot during my time at UVU. I have applied these concepts to my personal business (Jeron Osg Photography). I have also grown my financial portfolio and built my resume.
I have created this blog, LearnBiz, to share what I have been learning at UVU. I also want to show how I have been applying it to my business and my life in general. I firmly believe that education should be accessible and affordable. I am happy to share the education that I am fortunate to have with you!
This blog, more than anything, is for fun and learning. I am learning, and by sharing what I am learning, it allows me to learn even more. But, because I am learning, please do not take any of things contained on this site to be 100% factual. If you have genuine questions, please speak to a business analyst. You could also talk to an accountant, financial advisor, or someone with expertise in your question’s field.
Below I have some quick snippets of what I will be posting on this blog.
Accounting
Out of everything in the web-of-business, accounting has been one of my favorites so far. I love crunching down numbers on a calculator. I enjoy writing down calculations. Creating spreadsheets and charts helps me understand how my finances stand. I will write about simple concepts in accounting. I will also discuss my personal finances. Of course, I will not share too many details.
Stocks
For the last couple of years, I have been investing in stocks. This gives me an idea of how the stock market works. I will post my opinions and insights on the stock market. I will also analyze several specific companies and share my opinions on their performance.
Marketing
I’ll be completely honest, marketing is not really more forte. Often, marketing seems like the opposite of accounting. It seems like marketing doesn’t use numbers all that often. That was until I learned that GOOD and TRUE marketing crucially depends on numbers and analyzing performance. Learning this has completely changed my perspective on marketing. I’m excited to share what I have learned.
Branding
I have been running many business ventures every since I was 12 years old (started with a YouTube channel). I have years of experience building websites (see my portfolio here), helping launch podcasts, and building social media branding. I really enjoy building color schemes and helping build brands that stand out. I plan to share my experiences here and my opinions of how to have the best branding possible.
